The upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 draw, scheduled for today Monday 27th of January 2025 in Rabat, Morocco, has positioned Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Pot 1, allowing them to avoid several formidable opponents in their quest for glory.

The tournament, which runs from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, is set to be the first AFCON to span two calendar years, with the Super Eagles looking for a fourth title after the last in 2013.

The draw will take place at the iconic Mohammed V National Theatre and will feature all 24 qualified teams divided into six groups.

This year’s tournament represents Morocco’s first time hosting since 1988.

The country has previously withdrawn from hosting due to health concerns but has since established itself as a capable venue for major football events.
