DCP Abba Kyari (Suspended)

Suspended head of Police Intelligent Response Team, IRT, Abba Kyari will soon be extradited to the United States to face charges of fraud leveled against him by the FBI.
This follows the Federal Government’s approval of the request by the United States for suspended Commander of the IRT, DCP Abba Kyari, to be extradited over the $1.1million wire fraud allegedly perpetrated by Abass Ramon, aka Hushpuppi and four others.
But it was learnt that while the extradition process may be going on, there are discreet moves by both the Police Service Commission, PSC, and and other Police authorities in Abuja to accelerate the processes that will lead to the outright dismissal of Kyari from the force.
Recently, Police authorities formally queried Abba Kyari and his team and issued a 48 hours ultimatum to explain his involvement in drugs as alleged by the NDLEA.
Sources said getting Kyari outrightly dismissed from the force was geared towards preventing the shame that might accompany his trial by NDLEA, following his alleged involvement in deal after the on-going investigations.
