Mask and crime weapon, cutlass recovered

A 3-man gang of armed robbers from Sokoto and Kano states who have been terrorising innocent citizens in Ughelli axis of Delta State have been arrested.
The suspects have been involved in attacking unsuspecting victims, inflicting injuries on them with cutlasses and dispossessed them of their motorcycles.
Following series of complaints received from residents of Ughelli and environs, and acting on credible intelligence, Operatives of CP Special Assignment Team (CP SAT) of Delta State Police Command in collaboration with Ughelli kingdom Vigilantes carried out coordinated sting operations within Ughelli metropolis leading to the arrest of the suspects identified as: Surajo Atar, 25, male, native of Bigal village in Gada LGA of Sokoto State; Abba Musa, 24, male, native of Madara village in Danbatta LGA of Kano State; and Babangida Yusuf, 25, male, native of Hamdullahi village in Albasu LGA of Kano State.
Items recovered from the suspects at the points of arrest include a cutlass and a black mask believed to have been used in perpetuating their criminal activities.
The suspects on further interrogation led Operatives to the Trailer Park area along Sapele Road, Warri where their syndicate and receiver of stolen motorcycles, one Abdurashhed Shafiu, 31, male was also arrested.He has since confessed to buying the stolen items from the gang members.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyeniyi said investigation on the matter has commenced with a view to arresting other fleeing members of the gang, a statement issued by the Command’s PPRO, SP Bright Edafe referred .
