House of Representatives aspirant for Isoko North/South Federal Constituency in the forthcoming 2027 general elections in Nigeria, Sir Blessing Oghale Obomovo, has promised to bring transforming development to the area if he is elected to take over as successor to Hon. Ukodiko Jonathan next year.
Obomovo who made the declaration on Thursday, April 9, 2026 while speaking with members of the Ughelli Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) who had paid him a courtesy visit at his country home in Otor-Ohwe in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State noted that the constituency needs vast development and that there are many projects he could initiate to bring notable development the area.
Sir Obomovo who is of the All Progressives Congress (APC) remarked that his desire for the contest is driven by his desire to use the opportunities in government to serve his people more by empowering them to make life better for them.
“I grew up here and I understand the pains of our people. I believe we can do better in terms of representation and development,” he stated.
Obomovo who also contested in 2019 for the Delta State House of Assembly said he has always been involved in the empowerment of people since he believes that having many capable people is better than having just one capable man that everyone looks up to.
He added that even though he has been based in Lagos where he does business as a contractor in the building and construction industry, he has never stopped reaching out from there to participate in developmental activities in the community, citing the combined efforts made in the building of the cottage hospital in the area.
“I have used my private business to enhance the lives of young people because I believe that creating opportunities reduces dependency. If I can achieve that as a private individual, then I can do much more with the platform of public office.
“It is unacceptable that our people have to travel as far as Oghara to access affordable healthcare. One of my priorities is to facilitate the establishment of a major hospital within the constituency to serve our people better,” he said.
Obomovo also said one of his major focuses would to provide constant electricity. He explained that with constant power supply, a lot of industry could be established to better the lives of the people, adding that with cooperation, a lot of progress would be achieved.
Said he: “As a relatively small ethnic nationality, we must not take opportunities for granted. If we work together with a united front, we can achieve far more than when we do individually.”
The aspirant who also commended the Delta State Government for its efforts in infrastructural development and maintainance of peace in the state called for more support to the Governor Oborevwori-led administration in the state.
