The new Commissioner of Police for Delta State Police Command, CP Aina Adesola has ordered the removal from office and deployment of the DPO of Jesse division to the Command’s headquarters in Asaba pending the outcome of investigation of allegations of extortion levelled against him.
A statement issued by the Command’s PPRO, SP Edafe Bright informed that the DPO’s removal from office was sequel to a series of complaints of extortion and unprofessional conduct levelled against him from different quarters.
In one of the recent cases which drew the Command’s attention in a viral video recording, a woman alleged that two officers identified as Bright and Usman and the DPO, all serving in Jesse division, extorted the sum of Two million, five hundred thousand (N2,500,000) from her with the hope of releasing and setting free, her brother who was in Police custody for alleged gun running.
It was gathered that on January 1, 2026 the youth leader of Jesse community arrested two suspects namely: Israel Onojeruo (20) and Okoro Desmond; the latter was alleged to have sold a gun to the former. The suspects were transferred to the State Anti-cult Unit, SACU for investigation.

If found culpable, the officers will be dealt with according to extant laws as stipulated in the Police Act and Regulations to serve as deterrent to others.
