A coalition of seven political parties with over 5,000 members across the 25 LGAs of Delta State have joined the African Democratic Congress, ADC after defecting from their respective parties.
The defectors moved from APC, ANPP, APGA, NNPP, AD, LP and PDP.
Mr Fortune Oyadonghan, former leader of Delta G-25, a political group within the PDP read the list of defectors during a general meeting of Coalition stakeholders held at the PTI Conference Center, Effurun; Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Receiving the defectors, His Excellency, Senator David Mark, the National Chairman of ADC who was represented by Elder Festus Igbinoba, the National Chief Whip of the party apologised on behalf of other National leaders of the party who were expected at the ceremony but had to be in Anambra State where the party is fielding a candidate for the guber election in that state.
He said, contrary to insinuation, the ADC is not a newly registered political party but has existed and been on ground since 2006. He appreciated leaders and members of the party that had maintained its buoyancy until date when a tsunami of movement of politicians from other political parties hit the party.

According to him, the ADC is now the political party to beat in Nigeria.
The party National Chairman said the immediate task before the party leveraged on reconciliation, sensitisation, mobilisation and membership drive.
He expressed satisfaction at the number of defectors to the ADC and on behalf of himself and the National working committee received all the defectors to the ADC.
Later, in a vote of thanks, the Convener of the meeting and leader of the coalition stakeholders, Hon (Arch) Julius Akpovoka, thanked the National Leadership of the party for granting them full membership of the party.

He, on behalf of others promised to be loyal to the party Leadership at all levels and obey the party Constitution to the letter.

” I thank you that we are now full members of ADC” he enthused.
