Tantita Security Services commits to promoting peace and development in Niger Delta

Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited will continue to work with all stakeholders in the Niger Delta region to promote peace and development.

Managing Director (MD) of Tantita Security Services, High Chief Keston Pondi made the commitment during the occasion of the official commissioning of Isoko Youth House (Fred Obe Secretariat), located along Ozoro/Kwale Road, opposite the Southern Delta University Gate, Ozoro; Saturday, May 31, 2025.

The MD said the mandate given to Tantita security services by the federal government to secure the federal government’s critical infrastructure in the Niger Delta region does not simply end in oil pipeline surveillance but extends to efforts aimed at development of communities in the region.

He said Tantita’s commitment at development of youths of communities in the Niger Delta is aimed at securing enduring peace and unity in the communities believing that when the youths are empowered the peace and future of the youths is such communities will be secured.

He paid glowing tribute to Chief Fred Obe, the pioneer leader of Isoko Youth Assembly saying Obe’s legacy of good leadership continues to inspire others.

While pledging continued support to Isoko youths, Chief Pondi called for prudent use and protection of the facility so that it could serve its purpose in a long life span.

“On behalf of the Chairman of Tantita Security Services, Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo, I am here to officially unveil the Fred Obe secretariat. Today’s event represents the good relationship between Tantita and Isoko youths. This is a celebration of a promise made to empower, organize and give voice to the aspiration of Isoko youths and promise has been fulfilled”, he said.

Taking turn to speak, Chief Fred Obe appreciated the honour of naming the Isoko youth house after him stating that the dream of the Isoko Youth House began in 1997/1998 when the struggle for self determination and demand for fair share in the proceeds of oil exploration and exploitation in the Niger Delta particularly in Isokoland began.

He said alongside Tompolo and Asari Dokubo representing the Ijaw nation the struggle was intensified to the point where President Olusegun Obasanjo recognized and acknowledged that the struggle was justified.

Chief Fred Obe expressed gratitude to High Chief Keston Pondi for his support at the completion of the project stressing that the Isoko nation traditionally enjoys an existing warm relationship with the Ijaw nation and assured that Isoko will not forget the gesture of the Ijaw nation through Chief Keston Pondi.

Delta State Commissioner of youths, Hon ThankGod Harry Frakriowei who represented Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the event said the Isoko Youth House is a symbol of hope, opportunity and progress and that the facility which is well equipped with Information Communication Technology, ICT, gadgets will go a long way in supporting the actualization of Isoko youths’ aspirations.

“It will function as a training centre to equip the youths in various skills and act as a catalyst to innovation” he said, adding that the project aligns with the MORE agenda of the Oborevwori administration.

He commended the MD of Tantita whose contribution to peace and development of communities in the Niger Delta is noted and acknowledged.

Early on, President of Isoko National Youths Assembly Worldwide, Comrade Eniwake Orogun said the Isoko Youth House; a symbol of collective struggle was named after Chief Fred Obe in recognition of his pioneering leadership of Isoko youths towards self determination among the comity of ethnic nationalities in Nigeria.

Among others who contributed to the raising and completion of the Isoko Youth House, he gave profuse thanks to Keston Pondi who gave ‘an elephant size’ donation without forgetting to mention Hon Jonathan Ukodhiko in the same regard.

At completion and equipping, the Isoko Youth House cost over N200million.
