Governor of Delta state, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has commended the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ekpan Police Station, CSP Aliyu Shaba for winning the award of the DPO of the Year and the Police Officer of the Year award.
The governor gave the commendation in a remark during the presentation of the awards to the DPO on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
The Maiden Nigeria Police Award ceremony held on April 15, 2024 in Abuja.
Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi said it was pertinent to present the DPO and the awards to the Governor being the Chief Security Officer in the State and to also buttress the fact that the Command and the DPO could not have recorded such achievements but for the support of the Governor, and the good people of Delta State.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in his remark congratulated the DPO for his achievement and noted that there was always a reward for hard work.
He also stated that Ekpan was a very hot zone and comfortable place for criminals, ” but since CSP Aliyu Shaba was posted there, complete sanity has been restored to the area, and residents in Ekpan could now sleep with their two eyes closed.”
The governor urged other officers to emulate CSP Aliyu Shaba’s dedication to duty and thanked the CP for giving CSP Aliyu Shaba and other officers of the Command the necessary support and platform to perform.
The Governor presented a cash gift to CSP Aliyu Shaba as motivation urging him to do more in line with the popular saying “The reward for hard work is more work”
