The Federal University Lokoja, has visited the Edo State University Uzairue, to assess the programmes of the Engineering and Medical faculties for which the University has earned so much accolade by renowned regulatory institutions in Nigeria.

The visitor also sought to establish an enduring relationship with the host University at Uzairue.
The leader of the delegation, Prof. Mike Ogirima, Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Federal University Lokoja said that they were sent to the university by their Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi to familiarize themselves with the environment and to carry out on the spot assessement of the university’s structures and facilities.
During the guided tour of the university, the team were shown a slide presentation of the Anatomage used for virtual dissection, medical laboratories and the technological advanced by the Ag Provost, College of Medical Sciences, Dr. Atoe Kenneth.

Other areas visited include the Engineering workshops and laboratories, the farmhouse and the state-of-the-art E-library of the university.
At the end of the tour, Prof. Mike Ogirima who was amazed by the structures and facilities on ground said that Edo State University Uzairue is one of the leading universities in Nigeria.
Prof. Ogirima commended the founding fathers of the university for their visionary mindset towards the establishment of such a world class citadel of learning with up to date facilities.
He equally thanked the governing council, Vice Chancellor and the management team for maintaining such a high quality educational standards.
On his part, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Federal University Lokoja, Prof. Samuel Abejide stated that he was not only impressed by the level of practicals being done by the students in the university, but he was also surprised with the state-of-the-art technological equipment in both faculty of Engineering and the College of Medical Sciences, saying that he look forward to fruitful partnership with the Edo State university Uzairue.
In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor appreciated the Vice Chancellor of federal university Lokoja, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi for sending high power delegation to Edo State University Uzairue to assess the structures and establish an enduring partnership.
Prof. Aluyor reiterated the university’s readiness to collaborate with the Federal University Lokoja and also to avail them any assistance wherever and whenever necessary.

While promising to cherish the hand of friendship from the federal university Lokoja for many years to come, he however thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof Akinwumi and the delegation for holding Edo State University Uzairue in a high esteem.
