“My people deemed me fit to work because l am ready to work. To be the President-General of the Ughelli Descendant Union is not just a position you come to pick and you use for your personal use. I came to pick the position because l want to serve my people, ” he stated.

He commended the Delta State government for it’s efforts so far in building many schools and providing learning facilities in the schools.

He said, “l think the government has actually done a lot for Ughelli as far as education is concerned. On the issue of building more schools, employment of teachers and security to the schools, they have actually tried. All we seek for is more help from the state to the local government most especially the issue of scholarship because it is not everyone that actually have the finance to see their children through school.”

The PG however pleaded with the state government still to “help in the issue of security because where there is no security, the economy of the place will mot move. I beg the state to actually see how they can assist Ughelli as a local government and as a kingdom to see how we can actually tighten up the issue of security.”
