CASSON holds enlightenment campaign walk on mental health in Asaba

Counseling Association of Nigeria (CASSON) , Delta State held an enlightenment campaign walk on mental health care at Asaba on Monday 10th October, 2022.

The Chairman of CASSON, Delta State Chapter, Dr Mrs Edna Abidde and her vice Mrs Rose Obi led other members across the state on the enlightenment campaign walk on major roads to the Federal Medical Centre ( FMC ), Asaba telling residents the importance of mental health care.

Abidde in her campaign slogan stated among other things that : physical health care is as good as mental health care.

” If you have mental and mind challenge see a counselor.

” Thoughts and worries are not solutions to your problems.

” Suicide is not a solution to problems.

” No matter the problem, counselors are there to provide useful advice ”

Abidde and other members of association gave useful counseling and prayed for patients at FMC Asaba.

Abidde who spoke to newsmen shortly after the event disclosed that the enlightenment campaign walk was held in collaboration with World Health Organisation ( WHO ) on mental health care awareness.

The Vice Chairman of CASSON Delta State , Chapter Mrs Rose Obi in her contribution thanked God for the huge success of the event as she stated that counselors are in schools, hospitals and government offices for counseling.
