* Command arrest two suspects for illegal possession of firearm

The Commissioner of Police Delta state, CP Ari Muhammed Ali FCIA, Psc+ has warned officers and men of the Command to desist from all form of corruption and incivility to members of the public.
During an enlarged meeting with Area Commanders, DPO’S, Tactical commanders and other officers in the Command on Friday, October 8, in Asaba; the CP reiterated his earlier caution that the Command under his watch would not tolerate any form of corruption and incivility to members of the public, stressing that machinery have been put in place to check the activities of men posted to their various beats and warning further that any erring officer will be dealt with accordingly.
He cited the case of two officers who were recently from the Force for such related offences as an example to all.
The CP also ordered that stop and search should be intensified, while constant raiding of black spot/criminal hideout should be sustained.
Meanwhile, today, October 11,at 0740hrs, men of Ovwian Aladja Division raided criminal hideout/black spots in Ujevwu Community where some suspects who gathered in a large number smoking Indian Hemp took to their heels on sighting the police.
They were chased and two of them namely Godspower Alfred age 23yrs and Destiny Akwara 34yrs were arrested and upon search, a locally made cut to size gun and some wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered from them.
Similarly, yesterday, October 10, at about 1030 hrs, patrol team attached to Ovwian Aladja Division while on stop and search duty intercepted a commercial bus carrying some passengers and the operatives upon searching the passengers recovered one locally made single barrel gun concealed in a bag of Garri.
“The suspect one Pigi Kelvin ‘m’ of Ututuoama town Ughelli South LGA age 42yrs was arrested. Investigation is ongoing.” A statement issued by the Command’s PPRO, Bright Edafe said.
