Delta State Police Command has assured residents of Jeddo and its axis in Okpe LGA of peace and security after hoodlums terrorizing the area were arrested.
Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi gave the assurance while commending the DPO of Ekpan police station, CSP Aliyu Shaba and his men for their dedication and commitment in fighting crime and criminality.
He also appreciated the cooperation of the people of Jeddo community who reached out to the Command with useful information that led to the arrest of the criminals.
The DPO had following Intel gathered about activities of suspected kidnappers and armed robbers around Jeddo axis, Sunday, March 16, led Operatives and arrested four suspects namely: Endurance Oghotome ‘m’ (38), Blessing Oghotome ‘m’ (46), Marvellous Sissy ‘m’ (43) and Jonas Orugho ‘m’ (38).

The suspects led the police to their hideout in Jeddo community where an automatic English pump action gun, one locally fabricated Beretta pistol, one locally made cut-to-size gun and a live cartridge were recovered.

Earlier, on Saturday, March 15, the youth leader of Ekpan community, Victor Edavwe ‘m’, was arrested for illegal possession of an AK-47 assault rifle at Shrine Street, Ekpan and after interrogation, led Operatives to the house of one Efe aka ‘Eteyomo’ where one AK-47 assault rifle, one single barrel gun, 3 cutlasses, 2 daggers and 44 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition wrapped in a black sack and concealed on the roof of the sitting room were recovered.
All suspects and exhibits are in police custody as investigation is ongoing. A release by the Command’s PPRO, SP Edafe Bright said.
